Prestige Guidelines

Every member's prestige is recorded in two separate places. The first is in a prestige log. Each member has one of these maintained by themselve which includes each instance of prestige awarded, the month awarded, the type of prestige and the value of it. It also keeps a running total of general, regional, and national prestige. Members should track their own prestige - however they should be certain to only claim what they have reported to their DC on a monthly basis.

The second record of prestige is the prestige section of the DC's report each month. It catalogues all prestige awarded to all members within the month in question. All prestige reports will be reposted on this site.

Each month it is every member's responsibility to submit a request for prestige that they wish to have awarded to them. It is the DC's job to either award them this prestige or not award it but let them know why. Members should check the regularly mailed reports (or check this site) to make certain their logs match what the DC has recorded. Prestige NOT approved by the DC may NOT be claimed.

More information on the types of prestige available, awards that are typical and the cap for each category per month are available at the USNC's website: http://camarilla.white-wolf.com/usnc/

Prestige Request Specifications:

Prestige requests are due by the 25th of every month by midnight. This is to ensure that the DC staff has time to complete the report in time. If prestige is earned past this date, or the request is not submitted on time, a member can request that prestige the next month.

The DC staff requests that prestige requests be made in a specific format. In order to aid in the bookkeeping, members should report the totals that they have recorded in their individual logs for the previous month. Then they should itemize each instance of prestige they would like to request, having emailed the appropriate person for confirmation that they are being recommended for the award. If a member does not know how much prestige should be awarded they may just give a description of the action.
An example is given below:

Prestige request of player Clark Kent US20020000001

Old Totals:

G 500000 R 10000 N 1000

Requesting:

G 5 - site clean up Boston
ANC Communications duties (confirmation will be verified by So and So via email)
R 25 - donating money to charity event in NYC (confirmation will be verified by So and So via email)

Note that in the above the member has already emailed those recommending him for prestige asking them to email the DC staff to confirm these awards.

Prestige requests from other chapters such as site clean up and cam taxi do not need to be verified. Donations need to be verified if the award requested is in excess of 10 prestige. Any other rewards must be verified including: storyteller support, participation in charity events, convention service etc.

Convention service awards will not be added to either the log nor the report until they are available for verification by the DC.
